Offline Subset Evidence on a Regression Surface
Abstract
Regression allocation can prepare a subset before future application contexts are observed. Validation should freeze the surface and inspect local membership reversals on new information. It preserves the timing of covariates and the cost of later checking. A retrospective fit cannot establish that the originally retained set was useful before application outcomes became available. This focused synthesis develops an empirical comparison that preserves the terminal action, observation process, and total verification cost. Its proposed tests are prospective; no new simulation run, model-training result, or intervention effect is reported.
