Abstract

Three examples can vary their values while repeating the same kind of input. We parsed the ordinary tests for all 974 MBPP tasks and classified calls by a declared coarse argument-shape grammar. Every task had three ordinary calls, but 817 tasks used only one signature; 157 used at least two. Reference-code control flow accompanied a 14.55 percentage-point higher probability of multiple signatures after syntax-size, instruction-length, and setup adjustment. This describes the supplied examples under one static grammar. It does not measure branch coverage, semantic test adequacy, or model pass rates, and identical shapes can still contain behaviorally important value differences.

Exploratory benchmark-metadata draft. Downloaded programs were parsed without execution; human scientific review is pending.
