Abstract

Keeping fewer camera poses saves records, but the retained trajectory may conceal different kinds of movement. Across eleven KITTI reference sequences, reducing an every-second-frame representation to every tenth frame increased mean translation-length undercount by only 0.070 percentage points. The corresponding increase in accumulated rotation undercount was 12.73 points. Both calculations retain sequence endpoints. These results concern variation present in the captured pose arrays; they neither recover continuous physical motion nor show that a sparse trajectory preserves the visual consequences of camera rotation.

Exploratory analysis of public reference-pose arrays. The comparison changes retained anchors; it does not estimate poses or execute a camera-motion transfer model.
